To a wise man, as the saying goes, few words suffice. This marvelous work, written in 1740, introduces us to the world of the Great Work, rejecting false operations and guiding us through nature in an extremely simple process, glimpsed between the lines, behind the copious biblical quotations it includes. However, it traces the path to metals as where we should focus our attention to obtain the Philosopher's Stone and even defines which mineral is chosen; that is, it points out the remote raw material. Once again, it warns us that if we don't know what matter is, we should do absolutely nothing, because it would be harmful and we would waste our time and money. However, as the author tells us: "Matter is known by few and is found by few, because it has so many names." This has always been the crux of the matter, because once you know it, you've come a long way. And this author, as we say, mentions it by name without difficulty.

This small booklet has been a real find; it joins the works of Hermetic Recreations and many other texts that direct us to use the "cooking of air" as a way to capture the Universal Spirit. Although a brief work, it explains the essence of the Great Work without cryptic language and, at the end, offers us an illustration of an artifact that, in my opinion, better than any other deciphers what we must do.

This manuscript, written around 1700, is an exceptional gem. Not only for its marvelous content, which once again turns our attention to metals because, as the author says, the Philosopher's Stone "must necessarily spring and flow from a metallic root," something in complete agreement with Trevisano and countless other adepts, but also because it belongs to the pen of a woman philosopher. Alchemy was known as the domain of men, and few female figures exist who have published texts and achieved adeptship. Among the very few pamphlets that abound here and there is this manuscript entitled Sunflower of the Wise. A beautiful work where we discover the adventures of this woman to reach the Stone, and once again, we discover the only path to it through metals.

Este manuscrito, escrito en torno al año 1700, es una joya excepcional. No solo por su contenido maravilloso, donde de nuevo nos gira el rostro hacia los metales porque, como dice la autora, la Piedra Filosofal “necesariamente debe brotar y fluir de una raíz metálica”, algo en total concordancia con Trevisano e innumerables adeptos, sino porque pertenece a la pluma de una mujer filósofa. La alquimia fue conocida como ámbito de los hombres, y existen pocas figuras femeninas que hayan publicado textos y alcanzado el adeptado. Entre los poquísimos opúsculos que pululan aquí y allá se encuentra este manuscrito titulado Girasol de los Sabios. Una obra hermosa donde descubrimos las peripecias de esta mujer para alcanzar la Piedra, y de nuevo, encontramos el sendero único hacia la misma a través de los metales.

Sucede a menudo que cuando uno lee un libro de alquimia parece que los autores no se ponen de acuerdo. Mientras algunos parecen señalarlos los aires, otros la tierra, y otros los animales o vegetales. Llegar a tener en nuestras manos  los autores serios representa la verdadera formula del éxito, tan así que Bernardo El Trevisano nos lo dice, que si hubiera tenido acceso a los libros que encontró en su vejez la obra la podría haber hecho mucho antes. Por eso, encontrar un autor que compila a los mejores es difícil, pero loable. En este caso encontramos en el TRATADO SOBRE EL ARCANO MÁS SECRETO DE LOS FILOSOFOS ANTIGUOS la síntesis eficaz de los mejores filósofos que, reunidos, nos hablan del mismo tema.

A buen entendedor, dice el refrán, pocas palabras bastan. Esta obra maravillosa escrita en 1740 nos adentra en el mundo de la Gran Obra, rechazando las falsas operaciones, guiándonos por la naturaleza en un proceso en extremo simple, atisbado entre líneas, tras las copiosas citas bíblicas que incluye. Sin embargo, traza el sendero hacia los metales como donde debemos enfocar nuestra atención para obtener la Piedra Filosofal y hasta nos define qué mineral es el elegido, es decir, nos señala la materia prima remota. Una vez más, nos advierte de que si no sabemos cuál es la materia, no hagamos absolutamente nada, porque es perjudicial y perderíamos el tiempo y nuestro dinero. Sin embargo, como nos dice el autor: “la «Materia» es conocida por pocos y es encontrada por pocos, porque tiene tantos nombres” Este siempre ha sido el quid de la cuestión, porque una vez que la conoces tienes un gran trecho recorrido. Y este autor, como decimos, la menciona por su nombre sin problemas.

Dice que es "Un pequeño tratado muy bello, útil y espléndido." Y en verdad lo es. Este texto, casi desconocido en su género, y de corte anónimo, fue publicado en alemán en torno al año 1700. Ya tempranamente, nos enseña a detectar los caminos de los sofistas, donde se destilada, sublima, calcina, y en realidad no se consigue absolutamente. Nos lleva a obtener la materia que es común a todas las materias y cosas y desde una simple operación conducirla hacia la Piedra Filosofal. Esto nos recuerda, nuestro querido Parergon o mal llamado SM. Sin embargo, el autor propone algo mucho más interesante que podemos encontrar entre líneas, y casi al final: el camino a la verdad auténtica de la Gran Obra.

En este libro, concerniente a trabajos modernos sobre el antimonio, nada menos que de la pluma de dos brillantes científicos, vemos la verdad de la teoría y de la fantasía sobre este inusual y maravilloso mineral donde muchos cifraron sus esperanzas en la Gran Obra, de manera esteril, me atrevo a sugerir. Este texto nos brinda procedimientos comprobados, dosis exactas, el entendimiento perfecto de lo que se hace con el antimonio y por qué en unos casos no es diaforético y en otros sí, y que lo hace emético. Para hacer aún más rico su contenido, me tomé el atrevimiento de añadir fotos de mi colección cuando trabajé durante muchos años con la estibina – y aun sigo haciéndolo, pero no en pos de la Piedra Filosofal.

Alquimia Moderna Tratados siglo XIX

Esta obra se imprimió por primera vez en latín en 1600 y se publicaron varias ediciones durante el siglo XVII. Según mis investigaciones, este texto, aunque breve, ha sido una fuente indiscutible de donde abrevaron los alquimistas ingleses. Fulcanelli lo menciona en retiradas ocasiones, y también el alquimista Limojon De Saint Didier El texto nos refleja los pesares del autor que, habiendo conocido a la materia, sin embargo, no pudo arrancarle el secreto hasta entender realmente el proceso en cuestión.
