In alchemy there are few authors who are charitable. We see it even in Fulcanelli himself who says it and ends up confusing us with his gibberish and when he seems to tell us something about one thing, he turns around and tells us about another. And even for operations as simple as the preparation of the regulus of Mars, he hides it with allegories and arcane symbolism. That is why authors like Delocques can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Sincere, explicit, modest, who speak just what is necessary. From the wealth of generous authors, we can cite Agricola, Dr Becker, Glaser, Lemery, Grimaldy, Gosset (who although not entirely clear, gives concepts that are fundamental) and now Delocques is added. 

The difference with those, perhaps, is that Delocques really is generous, and I dare say, too much. When George Starkey spent 10 years meditating on how to prepare the volatile salt of tartar, and then wrote it down in his Diaries on one page, Delocques explains it in five lines without giving the matter any drama. The same method without so many detours explained explicitly. 

 About this important manuscript we can say that we found it in the Bibliothèque nationale de France, in Paris, in the Department of French Manuscripts, under reference 25 326, which has the following title: “Posthumous work, found after the death of Delocques, spagyric physician to the king, or recapitulation of all the operations he performed during his life, a very curious and clearly explained work, with the key to all the operations contained in his pyrotechnics on the great work and dated October 1, 1746.” 

This book clarifies, with the authority gained from the vast laboratory experience of the author, all the mysteries concerning the Great Work, and the processes of Ripley, Basil Valentine, Isaac the Dutchman, among many others. The darkness that generally surrounds alchemy texts finally has a candle to enlighten us. The clarity is unusual, I have experienced many of these processes myself with absolute success and they defined the oldest concepts of the SM. If you ask me what my favorite alchemy book is, without a doubt, I will say that it is Memorandum de la pratique alquímica by Delocques.

This manuscript is based on the memoirs of Helevecio, known as Helvetius, who met a true adept of alchemy and gave him a fragment of the Philosopher's Stone with which he transmuted it and was amazed. After being a detractor of alchemy, after this revelation, he became a true admirer of alchemy, writing to vindicate it, when until then he had written denying this art. These conversations with the adept he met came together in this book, where he provides details that were never mentioned in these conversations, small details that lead us by the hand to the mineral and metallic kingdom as the key to discovering the Great Work. His story was confirmed by numerous personalities, including the philosopher Baruch Spinoza himself. This book has an introduction and extensive research on this story by Sebastián Jarré, who analyzes, from the metallurgical process, the reality of the manifestation of the Philosopher's Stone.

En la alquimia existen pocos autores que son caritativos. Lo vemos incluso en el propio Fulcanelli que lo dice y termina embrollándonos con sus galimatías y cuando parece decirnos algo sobre una cosa, da la vuelta y nos habla de otra. E incluso para operaciones tan sencillas como la preparación del regulo de Marte, lo esconde con alegorías y simbolismo arcano. Por eso, autores como Delocques se cuentan con los dedos de una mano. Sinceros, explícitos, modestos, que hablan lo justo y necesario. Del acervo de autores generosos, podemos citar a Agrícola, Dr Becker, Glaser, Lemery, Grimaldy, Gosset (que aunque no es del todo claro, da conceptos que son fundamentales) y ahora se le suma Delocques. 

La diferencia con aquellos, tal vez, es que Delocques realmente es generoso, y me atrevo a decir que demasiado. Cuando George Starkey pasó 10 años meditando como preparar la sal volátil de tártaro, y luego lo redactó en sus Diarios en una carilla, Delocques lo explica en cinco renglones sin darle dramatismo al asunto. El mismo método sin tantos rodeos explicado explícitamente. 

Sobre este importante manuscrito podemos decir que lo encontramos en la Bibliothèque nationale de France, en París, en el Departamento de Manuscritos Franceses, bajo la referencia 25 326, que lleva el siguiente título : “Obra póstuma, encontrada después de la muerte de Delocques, médico espagírico del rey, o recapitulación de todas las operaciones que realizó durante su vida, una obra muy curiosa y claramente explicada, con la clave de todas las operaciones contenidas en su pirotecnia sobre la gran obra y fechada el 1 de octubre , 1746.” 

Este libro clarifica, con la autoridad que gana la experiencia de laboratorio, que se observa vasta en el autor, todos los misterios concernientes a la Gran Obra, y los procesos de Ripley, Basilio Valentín, Issac el Holandés, entre otros muchos. La oscuridad que envuelve generalmente a los textos de alquimia, por fin, tiene una vela para iluminarnos. 

La claridad es inusitada, muchos de esos procesos yo mismo los he experimentado con éxito absoluto y definieron los conceptos más antiguos del SM. Si usted me pregunta cual es mi libro favorito de alquimia, a no dudarlo, que diré que es Memorandum de la practica alquímica de Delocques.

What can we say about this extraordinary treatise? As Cristóbal Glaser explains, everything he explains in great detail has been experienced by himself and given to patients, there is nothing left to the imagination. He also opposes these alchemists who hide extremely simple processes in a gibberish of words and that in the end the truth is reduced to a simple operation, which Glaser explains in detail. And in this extraordinary exhibition, we see paraded the preparation of a volatile salt of Venus for gonorrhea, of an authentic Tincture of Coral for blood circulation, the authentic urine remedy that, if we remember, Glaser praised him supremely, the preparation of elixirs of plants, minerals, and most interesting of all, a hidden solvent to open the gold, to make it volatile and allow it to pass through distillation. As a corollary, he explains animal pathways and how to obtain unparalleled medicines through the pyrolysis of animal remains. This work contains exceptional knowledge that, if we compare it with texts by alchemists, will be revealed and will also put them in their real position regarding what they deal with. Because what Glaser says is true, alchemists often indulge in fantasy and praise preparations that are not meant to be praised. They never give a dose, nor do they explain the effect produced by their supposed universal medicines. But Glaser does do it and in detail, in which cases it is recommended, the exact dosage, etc. He presented this text to the King who was steeped in operational alchemy and had to dazzle him. But not only the king, I predict that the reader will also be amazed.

¿Qué decir de este extraordinario tratado? Como explica Cristóbal Glaser, todo lo que explica con lujo de detalles lo ha experimentado él mismo y dado a pacientes, no hay nada al arbitrio de la imaginación. También se opone a estos alquimistas que ocultan procesos extremadamente sencillos en un galimatías de palabras y que al final la verdad se reduce a una simple operación, que explica Glaser con detalle. Y en esta extraordinaria exposición, vemos desfilar la preparación de una sal volátil de venus para la gonorrea, de una tintura auténtica de Coral para la circulación sanguínea, el auténtico remedio de la orina que, si recordamos, Glaser lo elogió soberanamente, la preparación de elixires de plantas, minerales, y lo más interesante de todo, un oculto disolvente para abrir el oro, para hacerlo volátil y que pase en la destilación. Como corolario explica las vías animales y como obtener medicinas sin igual mediante la pirolisis de restos de animales. Esta obra encierra un conocimiento excepcional que , si lo comparamos con textos de alquimistas, quedarán revelados y además, los pondrán en su posición real sobre lo que tratan. Porque es cierto lo que dice Glaser, a menudo los alquimistas se dan mucho a la fantasía y enaltecen preparaciones que no son para enaltecer. Jamás dan una dosis, ni explican el efecto que produce sus supuestas medicinas universales. Pero Glaser sí lo hace y en detalle, en qué casos es recomendable, la dosis exacta, etcétera. Este texto lo presentó al Rey que estaba empapado en la alquimia operativa y tenía que deslumbrarlo. Pero no sólo al rey, vaticino que al lector lo asombrará también.

Sobre Tiffereau podemos leer este artículo para dispensarnos de hablar más al respecto. Sin embargo, en esta obra traducida, se encuentran muchisimos detalles que el amante del arte hermético no dejará pasar de largo, en especial si lo une al proceso que explica Basilio Valentin quizá obtenga las luces para lograr lo imposible. 

A la vez, dispone de un jugoso prólogo sobre la vida y obra de Paracelso, como hombre visionario, charlatán, imaginativo, científico, que pese a sus virtudes y falencias, dejó sentadas las bases para imaginar y luego crear; sin él, la alquimia no habría sido la que conocemos hoy día: por un lado la búsqueda de una materia para convertir los metales en oro; y por otro, una sustancia, un licor, para extender nuestros días sobre este mundo.

Por todo, este libro merece ocupar vuestra estanteria. Una traducción impecable de Mejnour del francés al español.

Esta maravillosa obra dejó abierta una puerta a los misterios de la naturaleza desde la optica moderna de una alquimista Danesa singular. A la vez revela qué cosa se oculta en el aire, poniendole un término/nombre científico por primera vez. Enseña la Piedra finalizada y sus transmutaciones en fotografias. Es una obra brillante, desafiante a los conceptos modernos, y que buscamos su original afanosamente durante mucho tiempo. Finalmente lo localizamos y emprendemos esta titanica tarea de traducir la obra lo más fielmente posible a nuestra lengua española, para posteriormente hacerla en inglés. Pero por si faltara poco, buscamos trazas sobre la autora de este texto, que se dice falleció no hace mucho tiempo. Esta es la historia de una singular mujer, una moderna Marie Curie de la alquimia que prefirió el anonimato al estrellato por su hallazgo con relación a la transmutación de los metales. Por primera vez su historia investigada en persona, y su obra fiel a los detalles de la misma.

Oh, what to say about the powerful Work of this adept, one of the last, of this century? Cyliani will be a mystery. But not his work. There seems to be a concordance with other older ones. The basis of his work seems to be strongly based on the text “The Ancient and True Way of Nature” and even Hermetic Recreations by an unknown author. They say that Cyliani died of a heart attack like every other mortal. He himself said about the limitation of medicine in the face of a vital organ that does not seem to be functioning correctly.  What makes this text interesting is its modernity, and that it also comes with the explanatory comments of G Perard, who knew Cyliani during his life. This author reveals to us what we need to know.
